How did the spring and summer go for you with basketball?
“Spring and summer ball went pretty well. We traveled all over the country and played some of the best teams you can find. I believe my Beyond Ball team and program was good enough to compete at the highest level for sure and doing so, I think I got much, much better.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“My workouts plans are still consistent of what I have being doing, and that’s usually workouts by myself or with my little brother at Handle University and then open gyms at Southeast Polk most evenings. We are really grinding there and getting better every night.”
What have you improved on the most since last season?
“I think I’ve improved on transferring my game from being able to pretty much just play off the catch and now I can bring the ball up the court the whole way and make a good play for either myself or my teammates.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I believe we can be a very good team. We have a lot of players who are way overlooked and a coach who I believe can get us in the positions we need to be in to upset good teams. We are definitely going to surprise people.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“I believe our toughest game will be North High, January 22nd at home. North is a super talented team and I know almost their whole team, so it will be a fun challenging game for us.”
What are the keys for your team having success?
“The key to our success is going to be our ball movement and the way we play with each other. We have six or seven guys that are able to score and when we play together, we will be great.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“I will be playing basketball in college, Lord willing. I love the game so much and I want to do it as long as I can. I just picked up my first offer scholarship to play at William Penn, but hopefully I can get noticed more this season.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“The schools that have been recruiting me are mostly Division III schools in Iowa, and then Grandview University and William Penn.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Like I said, William Penn is definitely the top right now as they are the only college to offer a scholarship.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have visited Simpson, Dominican University in Chicago, and I went to William Penn for a camp. I plan on going on a couple more visits this upcoming month.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up and currently was always Duke University. The way Coach K interacts with his players is something I always thought was pretty awesome.”
