How has the baseball season been going this summer?
“It has been solid; I can see the off-season work showing as well as my numbers at the plate and in the field have increased to where I wanted them to be.”

What do you feel you have improved on most this off-season?
“A lot of my work on the baseball side this off-season was just my confidence and believing in my abilities at the plate. I was pushed into a leader role this season and I think that has brought out the best player in me. As for football, a big focus of mine was to become more of a football player physically. I played my junior year at 165 not really knowing what to expect, now being experienced I have put on another 25 pounds of muscle and my strength, speed, and explosiveness have increased a ton.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?

How do you feel your team will do this fall?
“I think our team knows we have something to prove. Coach B has done a great job putting us to work this off-season and you can’t look around the school any longer and say, “why doesn’t that kid play football?” Everyone is brought into what we have going on and I’m excited for my senior season.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I would say our toughest games will be the cross-town rivals. Nothing is better than getting the bragging rights against these teams, and they are the games you wait for all year long, there is just something different about them for sure.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“A big-time player we know is going to bring it is Sioux City East DB Davares Whitaker. He has the ability to make that game changing play at any moment, and there is a reason he has the offers and looks from colleges that he does.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I am definitely looking to play sports in college, which sport I plan to play though is still up in the air. My current plan is to make a decision based on what school and program fits me best sometime before my senior baseball season.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“A lot of my recruiting currently is from the football side. I have heard from a lot of NSIC schools, and some NAIA schools such as Morningside, Doane, Mount Marty, and a couple others. As for baseball, I have received a lot of local interest and a couple D2’s but hope to receive more once my junior season ends and I attend more showcases.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
N/A

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any college trips yet, but I have some coming up soon.”

Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I am currently setting up a lot of gameday visits to attend for the fall season, and also working to make more camps as baseball is beginning to come to an end.”

Have you done any camps this off-season? How do you feel you performed?
“I have done a couple camps this offseason. I attended the Prep Baseball Report camp and the Podyum Preps Football Camp, both here in Sioux City. I believe I performed well and stood out in both. I also was invited to the Podyum Preps All-American Bowl down in Miami in December, so I plan to make that trip as well”.

Do you have any plans for camps ahead?
“I have plans to attend some fall showcases and some college camps once baseball season is over. What showcases I will attend for baseball is still up in the air but as for football I hope to attend Minnesota State, Augustana, and UMary’s camps as long as dates don’t interfere.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up has always been Nebraska. My dream has always been to play football or baseball for the Huskers. If an opportunity comes where that dream could become a reality, it would be very hard for me to pass on personally.”
