How did the football season go for your team?
“Honestly, I thought it went pretty well coming in as a sophomore. I had to compete for my spot and worked my way up week to week. I was happy to help out the team. It’ll be a great experience for me over the next few years.”

What was the toughest part of moving to varsity so early?
“The biggest thing was getting used to the intensity. It wasn’t like that in middle school. I relied a lot on my teammates to help get me ready. Strength is another thing but I’ve been working on that quite a bit in the weight room.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“Probably size and my body would be the biggest things. Then it is little things like quickness, speed, and all the things that can help me during games. My coach has talked to me about being a lead going forward.”

How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I think we’ll be decently good. We got a new quarterback coming in. The biggest thing will be the line. We have to fill some spots there. We got some bigger kids coming up but we’ll need to find guys for the offensive and defensive lines.”

Do you have a favorite sport?
“It is probably between football and baseball honestly. I am starting to lean more forwards football, but it just depends on how I fill out the next three years of high school. This winter, I’ll be training for both sports.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“College wise, Iowa State when they did spring training asked me and another kid to watch their practice and meet with the coaches. I’ve done a lot of their camps and talked to Coach Campbell. At Iowa, there is a guy named Reese Morgan who came to our school. He talked to me and said that he’ll be watching over the next few years with baseball or football. There was also a little message from Penn State. I don’t remember anyone else.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“As a football fan, I’ve always enjoyed Iowa State because they are local in Ames. Otherwise, I have followed Alabama a little bit. They are a fun team to watch. For the most part, I don’t follow too many sports. I am just an Iowa farmer over here. I got my head down working.”
