How did the basketball season go for your team?
“Basketball went good and it was way better than last year. We all believe we should have made it farther, but the game didn’t go our way. We are losing some great seniors, but we have strong classes coming back.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“I’m doing speed work, basketball workouts around three times a week, and lifting every day.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I want to improve my off the dribble chances and creating shots for myself and others. I need to work on keeping myself in control and not getting too crazy.”

What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How do you feel your team will be?
“I’m playing on a team out of the Little Hawkeye Conference that we call “Team LHC”. It’s a group of us out of the LHC. Pella, PC, Grinnell, and maybe Norwalk. I believe we will be good, and we have a lot of talent. There are not many big guys, but it will be fun and a good experience.”

What are your goals for the AAU season?
“I want to get more comfortable with my game and develop more as an overall player. It’s very good competition, high paced, and more exciting play.”

How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I believe we will be good and have a good chance at a state run. We have Logan Shetterly and John Oltman back so that makes up for a strong backcourt. Then I can bring some intensity on the offensive and defensive side as well. We have a pretty deep bench so it will be fun. With the coaching staff we have as well, we are bound to make it far.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2019-2020?
“I would say Norwalk for sure is the hardest opponent we will play next season, with Bowen and Tyler Johnston in the back court. They are looking very talented, but the whole little Hawkeye conference will be very tough next year. It will be good for us to get challenged each and every week.”

What sport do you want to play in college?
“I would love to play basketball in college. It was my first love and I love the thrill, workouts, practices, technique work, and mental toughness needed to succeed in the sport.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“DIII colleges mostly have been contacting me. I haven’t gotten a lot of exposure yet, so once I get more out there, I think it will help with the process.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Not many schools are recruiting me hard. Dordt has contacted me, but not many.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I haven’t made any college trips yet. I feel like I’m a little too young, but going into my junior year, my college decision will definitely be in my mind.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“I am planning on attending the Dordt Elite Camp, as well as the Central. Also, skill development camps in Des Moines as well.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I have always loved Iowa State, but that would have to develop. Central College is also in mind because my parents went there and it’s in Pella, so it has always been in my mind. There are also smaller schools such as Dordt in mind too. I wouldn’t mind getting out of the state either. Trying something new would be fun.”
