What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“I am rehabbing from hip surgery and I’ve also bene lifting a lot. I am trying to get back leg strength. I’ve been working on field goal kicking a lot.”

What happened with the hip?
“Last football season I tore my labrum in my hip. The day after the season ended, I had surgery to shave down my femur and repair my labrum. The problem shouldn’t happen again.”

How do you believe your team will be next season?
“This season, we have the potential to do even better than last season. We had a good year in stepping up to 4A. This year we are looking to make the playoffs for sure.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2017?
“Definitely Valley for senior night and then we got Southeast Polk and Fort Dodge. Those are games we are looking to win.”

How do you feel about your first opponent of the football season in Ottumwa?
“Last year, they weren’t ready for us. We handled them but you never know how a team will come out. It’ll be a good game but we’ll be ready.”

Do you want to play football in college?
“Yes, it is something I want to do.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“So far, I’ve gone to camps at Iowa State and Iowa. I haven’t gotten a lot of interest. My surgery hurt me but I plan on having a good senior year to get recognition.”

What colleges have shown attention?
“I have gotten some stuff in the mail inviting me to camps but nothing like an offer. It has been Iowa Western, Central, and Simpson.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Yes, the University of Iowa.”
