How did the baseball season go for your team?
“We had a good season. It was great to make it back to the state tournament. Our goal was to win the whole thing, but we are proud of our 2nd place finish. After graduating 8 starters, I felt like people counted us out.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“I’m playing football right now, but I still make time to hit and work on catcher skills. I also enjoy lifting weights year-round.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I’m always trying improve in all aspects of the game, both as a catcher and as a hitter.”

How do you believe your high school baseball team will be next season?
“We lose three seniors that will be tough to replace, including Sammy Kratz, who was an all-state pitcher. We were young this year with 5 sophomore and 2 freshman starters, but we will have a lot more experience going into next year compared to this year.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for the 2021 season?
“I think Don Bosco, who we played in the state championship, will be a tough game. The other game we always look forward to is the game against our cross-town rival Mason City.”

How did Covid factor into your personal baseball season?
“I played spring ball with Perfect Game and because of COVID, we had most of the season cancelled. Our high school season was shortened.”

What sport do you want to play in college?
“Baseball.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Iowa, Oregon State, Oregon, and Florida State.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Iowa and Oregon State.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have visited Iowa.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“I wasn’t able to go to any football or basketball camps this summer because of COVID and our baseball schedule. Most of the baseball prospect camps that I was going to attend have been cancelled.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve always been a Hawkeye fan.”
