How did the spring and summer go for you with basketball?
“I love playing basketball and this spring and summer was just another chance to do so. My AAU team was Tryon Gym. I really enjoyed playing with those guys as they are incredibly unselfish and are a lot of fun to be around.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“Workouts will be toned down now that the season is about to start. I will still be lifting and doing plyometrics twice a week, but I will probably only come in to the gym once or twice a week to keep my game sharp during the season.”
What have you improved on the most since last season?
“I think my shooting has dramatically improved from this season compared to last season. My shooting numbers dipped last year, and I was disappointed to see that. It was just motivation to work harder. Along with shooting, I put a ton of focus on my left hand and mid-range game. I am really pleased to see the strides I have made in those areas as well.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“The team returns a ton of scoring and skill. My team has really bought into getting better in the off-season and I think it will really show this season. We have very high expectations this year and we plan on making a deep playoff run.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“I think the toughest game on our schedule will either come from Spirit Lake, a good 3A squad, or Pocahontas, a solid 2A team. Both of those teams will be a good challenge for us.”
What are the keys for your team having success?
“Our philosophy has always been to play fast and great defense. I believe that we have tons of skill on offense and that will be one of our strong points. We are an undersized team and we will need to be able to rebound and defend at very high levels in order to be successful.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“Basketball.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Morningside, Briar Cliff, Northwestern, William Penn, and Wayne State have all shown interest.”
What college is recruiting you the hardest overall?
“Briar Cliff has shown the most interest as of right now.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any college trips yet.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I've grown up watching Iowa as a kid. They would be at the top of my list for a favorite college.”
