What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“Our football team has implemented a new weightlifting and agility workout that our team does and will be doing this whole summer. It’s great because our team has never had a lifting program and it was basically whoever wanted to put in the extra work would but not everyone would. Now we all are putting in the work which is great for us and should prove to be this next season.”
What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“I feel like personally I have improved my body and getting bigger in the weight room this past year or two. I went from 140-pounds the end of my freshman year to 165 now in my junior year. I also have been doing some agility to try to keep my speed up.”
What are your areas of focus going forward?
“I’m going to continue to focus on baseball and hitting the weight room to get bigger and stronger for college.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I think our football team will be a team to beat next year. I think the switch to 8-Man will be good for us because we have a lot of speed, but not a lot of size on the line. We should be very competitive with whoever we play.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“I’m not sure what our toughest game will be next year since we haven’t played any of teams before. Next year will be our first year going 8-Man. I know Lone Tree and HLV Victor will be tough because they both made the playoffs last year. We will have a test the first week of the season when we play HLV.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I want to play baseball in college. I think baseball is what I am best at and what will be best for me. It’s my favorite sport.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have been in contact with a couple coaches at Cornell, William Penn, and Grand View. I haven’t been really recruited that hard yet, but probably will coming up soon and at the beginning of next year.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have visited William Penn and am going to visit Grand View sometime next year.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“Our football team is going to the Iowa state football camp in a couple weeks. I have gone to a few baseball showcases and am going to go to the junior showcase at the end of the summer. I might go to a Grand View camp and maybe the Iowa Western camp.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I never really had a favorite college growing up. I have always liked Vanderbilt ever since I went and toured it a couple years ago, but I’ve never really had a favorite.”
