How did the AAU season go for you during the off-season?
“The AAU season went good. I played with the Barnstormers this last year, although I’ll be playing with Martin Brothers from here on out. I thought playing on the Gauntlet was really cool and the travel was great, although I think with everything that happened it was just sort of a strange situation. I am really looking forward to playing with MB and it should be lots of fun.”

What have you been doing as of late with workouts?
“I work out every day just doing personal stuff like shooting, lifting, and getting stronger. I get in the gym with a trainer or coaches whenever I can, and I attend all of our open gyms at Mount Vernon and all of the Martin Brothers practices.”

What have you improved on the most since last season?
“My ball handling and finishing at the rim.”

How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I feel like if we put in a lot of hard work and play as a team, it could be very good. And if we don’t do those things, it could be very bad. I have a lot of faith in what we can do, and I think we are ready. But that’s for every team. If you don’t show up and put in the work and play as a team, the season won’t go how you want it to. I know the guys at MV are willing to do those things and I think it could be a special year.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“I think probably Solon just because of the rivalry and how hard both teams go at it.”

What are the keys for your team having success?
“Staying focused on winning and everyone doing their roles to get us there.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Western Illinois, Drake, and UNI are the main ones so far.”

What colleges have offered?
“Western Illinois.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I’ve made a visit to Western Illinois.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Nope, just always enjoyed watching college basketball and every player.”
