How did the high school football season go overall?
“I was really happy with our football season. Coming into the season, I was not sure what to expect because we had lost a lot of experience and talent from the season prior. But people stepped up where they needed to, and we had a successful season of 6-3.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Right now, I'm doing basketball just trying to keep in shape and keep running strength up in my legs. I'm also keeping up with weightlifting before school, especially hitting cleans and bench pressing to work on explosiveness for football.
What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“I'm really trying to be as explosive as I can and work on conditioning. I never want to come off the field. I think that I have pretty good strength and quickness, but still need to keep working on these. I want to really focus on my explosion to get an edge.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I have a lot of confidence in my team next year. My grade has always been really hard workers, always doing extra sprints, and always in the weight room.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“As of right now, we only know who our district teams will be. Of these, I think Washington or Keokuk will be the toughest competition. They both have a lot of talent, although none of the district games will be give mes.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I'm not quite decided if I truly want to or not. I have gotten many letters for both football and throwing in track and field. Ultimately, it will come down to what I feel is the best option for my future.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Colleges like Coe, Central, Simpson, Macalester, William Penn, and Wisconsin Platteville have been sending me letters. Iowa State and UNI have shown a little bit of interest as well.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I don't know if I could say one is trying harder than another.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I visited Iowa State last March, and have been invited to visit UNI. I have also visited Central College.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I haven't made too many plans as of yet, but I intend on doing so.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I always loved Iowa State growing up.”
