How did the high school football season go overall?
“I felt like it was a very successful football season for my team and myself overall. We made it to the state playoffs for only the 7th time in school history and we beat our rival Cascade for the first time in 7 years. Also, my personal goal for the year was to be on the first team all-district team which I accomplished, so overall it was a great season.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Now I’m planning on playing basketball, throwing in track and baseball. While participating in those sports, I’ll keep working out for football lifting 4 times a week and doing agility workouts.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“What I’m trying to improve most for next season is to become a better pass rusher on the edge. I feel like I could improve the most there for next season and hopefully by doing my agility workouts and learning new pass rush moves I can get more sacks next year on the D-line. Also, it’ll help with my footwork on the offensive line with pass blocking and run blocking.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think next year will be a great year for my team. We’re returning a lot of our starters from this season and everyone has the same goal for next season and that is to make it farther in the playoffs then we did this year. Also, most of our guys are multi-sport athletes so we’re all keeping that competitive mindset all year round and we have a great offseason program for our football team. We are all hoping to make big gains this offseason.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“At the moment, we don’t really know who we’re going to play next season because the districts and schedule haven’t come out yet, but I know that we will play Anamosa in the Cowbell game. That is always a very competitive game no matter the record of either team. They also won it this year and I believe they’re returning a lot of starters so that should be a very competitive game next year.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“It is my goal to play college football after high school.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’ve gotten emails from local Division III schools and have been in contact with Concordia St. Paul in Minnesota. I’m also going to start to email game film to schools soon since the college football regular season has ended.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I haven’t made any trips to any colleges yet, but I’m planning to start going on some this spring. I haven’t decided which colleges I’ll visit yet though.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was Iowa. I always enjoyed watching guys like Adrian Clayborn, James Morris and Ricky Stanzi play on Saturdays and my favorite game was the 2010 Orange Bowl game against Georgia Tech.”
