How did the spring and summer go for you with basketball?
“The spring went very well. I loved playing for the Barnstormers this summer. It was a great learning experience playing against lots of very good, college level competition. The teams we played were very good and I’ve improved a ton because of it.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“I have football practices and games so those are great workouts and ways to stay in shape. I’m doing a workout everyday day for basketball too. I continue to go to the local gym, school, or I’ll even use my driveway to get a good workout in.”
What have you improved on the most since last season?
“I’ve improved a lot on being confident in my abilities and am really using those abilities to make plays, score, and play solid defense. I’ve gotten a lot more confident in using my off hand and staying confident in using that also.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I believe our high school basketball team could be very good this year. We have the potential to go a long-ways into the postseason this year. Last year, we finished a game short losing to Lynnville-Sully in the district final. We are all ready and hungry to go even further than that.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“Our toughest games will be against Belle Plaine, Keota, and Lynnville-Sully conference wise. We play Albia, North Tama, and Gladbrook Reinbeck this year for some out of conference opponents. Those games will all be tough games and will require an all-around performance from our team. With that being said, we can’t overlook anyone. We have to have a must win mentality throughout the entire season.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“Basketball primarily, but if I have the opportunity to play basketball and football, or play basketball and run track, I would love to.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have received a scholarship offer from William Penn University and that is my only current offer. I have received some letters about attending some prospect scouting camps from Coe College, Truman State University, and Wayne State College, but that is it for recruiting.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I would say William Penn because they are the only to offer me a scholarship.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“As of right now, we have not. That is something we are looking forward to in the near future.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I have attended the William Penn basketball camp, the Coe College prospect camp, and I will also be attending the Truman State prospect camp.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I have always liked Iowa because I’ve grown up in state and it’s a family thing to root for the hometown team.”
