What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“For my workouts lately since summer started, I’ve been getting up at 7:30 in the morning to go lift weights with my teammates and work on agility/speed training to get in shape to be ready for the season.”
What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“Since last year’s football season ended, I feel that I have most improved my speed and quickness. I think a lot of that improvement came from this past track season as well as these summer workouts.”
Who do you open the football season with? What are your thoughts on them overall?
“We open up the season with West Burlington. Over the past few years, they have played us pretty close and I think they will be one of our tougher opponents we have on our schedule this year.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I think that this next season is going to be a really one good for us. We have quite a bit of guys returning from last year and everyone has put in a ton of hard work this past off-season to improve. That is going to help us get as far as we can this fall.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“West Burlington should be one of our tougher opponents this year. Since we’ve moved down to 1A this year, I don’t know a whole lot about the other teams that we play. From what I’ve seen and heard, Wilton and Sigourney-Keota should also be pretty good opponents for us.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“In the future, I would like to play college basketball.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“So far, Simpson College is really the only one recruiting me. I do know Illinois College has watched one of our games at a tournament in St. Louis, but I haven’t really heard anything from them yet.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Like I said, Simpson is the one recruiting the hardest.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“So far, I have only gone on a visit to Simpson, but I’m planning on visiting Wartburg, Central, and UNI. I may go on others if it comes up down the road.”
What camps did you attend this summer? How did the camps go overall?
“This summer, the only camp I went to was the Simpson College basketball team camp. That camp was kind of up and down. We struggled at some points, but there were also a lot of things that we did well. I was going to attend a prospect camp at Simpson in June, but it got canceled and I plan on going to their one in September. I wasn’t able to go to any individual camps this year between football workouts, baseball, and summer AAU basketball.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up, my favorite college team was the Iowa Hawkeyes, but I also liked North Carolina for basketball and Kansas State for football.”
