How did the high school football season go overall?
“Right now, I am balancing my time between basketball and lifting. I also play baseball in the summer, but I will still go to morning lifts before practices or games. It’s very important that athletes play multiple sports in high school. Lifting on your own time is possible, so it’s a good idea to get involved in other sports.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We are losing a lot of key players, but we have some newcomers. Our whole O-line is returning, which gives us a strong core to our team. We have some gaps to fill when it comes to skill kids with a lot of them graduating this year. A lot of sophomores will have to step up and embrace their roles at the varsity level. We have to have a next man up mentality, and everyone needs to be firing on all cylinders. Overall, I think it will be a good season with plenty of opportunities for new faces.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our schedule won’t be easy, as everyone in our conference has a solid roster. I’d say the team that poses the biggest problem to us next year is Washington. Washington has always been a good program when it comes to football, and it’s always a challenge playing them.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“There are a lot of teams with great athletes that we will play this year. One player stands out to me though, and he will only be a junior next year. I think the toughest individual player we will face next year is Max Weaton. He is a big target for his quarterback and has strong hands. He has 2 years left in high school, and he will likely make some noise in the conference.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Playing college football has not always been a goal of mine. In fact, my freshman year I thought I had no future in football. But as time has gone on, I have seen some of the great things about college football. I would say that I am pretty interested in playing football at the next level.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have had multiple colleges reach out to me with questionnaires and recruiting. I attended my first football camp at the start of December last year, and I got to talk to some coaches from different colleges there. I had some interest from Waldorf University and Simpson College. Other than that, I haven’t had very much exposure to college coaches yet, but I plan on doing so by attending more camps and reaching out to more coaches.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any campus visits yet.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“I do not have any set visits yet, but I have had some coaches talk to me about future visits.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Over the course of my whole life, I have always been an Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Obviously, I am from Iowa, so it is relatively close to where I live. My father has always been a fan of Iowa, so I followed in his steps and became a Hawkeye fan myself. I enjoy watching the Hawkeyes play football and basketball, and I have attended a couple games in person. The culture at Iowa really stands out to me, and I am definitely proud to say I am an Iowa fan.”
