How did the football season go for your team?
"Our football season was pretty successful this year, but we didn’t achieve the goal of making it to the Dome. We were the first Johnston team to be division champions in Class 4A, which was a good accomplishment for our team. We know that next year we have a potential to be a good team, but it’s just if everyone is willing to push themselves to the next level."

What are your workout plans now going forward?
"My workout plans for next year right now are playing basketball and lifting. Once basketball is over, I’m going to be lifting a lot more and eating healthier to gain more weight. The goal would be to add around 20 pounds to be about 220 by next season. It is definitely achievable, but I have a long way to go."

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
"This off-season, I’m mainly trying to gain weight and strength while maintaining my speed and quickness. I’m also trying to be a better leader for my team. I want to push my team to become great and not settle for good. If everyone puts forth the most effort they can in everything they do in the weight room and on the field, we have the potential to do something big."

How do you believe your team will be next season?
“Next year, I believe we have the potential to be a great team and make it to the Dome and even further. We are losing some key seniors at certain positions, so it all depends on how others can step up and fill those positions. I know that we will be successful, but it really depends on who steps up that will determine just how successful we are."

What are the keys to your team making a playoff run?
"Our keys to make a playoff run would be to play as a team and be able to handle adversity. If the offense throws a pick, the defense has to get out there and shut them down. If the defense lets up a touchdown, the offense has to get out there and score. We can’t let bad events affect the next play. I feel by doing this, we can always remain positive and play better every down."

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
"Playing football would be the only sport I’d play in college if given the opportunity. It’s always been a goal, but my main focus has been being able to go to whatever college I want because of academic achievement and not athletic scholarships. I’d really consider going to play football if recruited by college schools."

What colleges have been recruiting you?
"So far, there haven’t been any colleges that have really been recruiting me."

Have you made any college trips yet?
"The only visit I have went on was with my friend Anthony Coleman to Iowa. I was technically a guest, so it really wasn’t an actual visit, but I got to see their facilities and it was a really cool tour."

What camps are you going to this summer?
"This summer, I haven’t really decided or looked at camps yet. I might go to an Iowa or Iowa State camp because of the convenience and because I think playing there would be cool. I haven’t really looked at any other camps yet, so I’m not sure."

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
"My favorite colleges are probably Iowa and Iowa State. I’ve visited both campuses with my family and I could see myself at either one of them. I haven’t really seen other college campuses, so I don’t know how much I’d like other colleges."
