How did the spring and summer go for you with basketball?
“Spring and summer were extremely good to me and that’s when I really blew up recruiting wise. I felt everything came to together for me then.”

How often do you workout and what have you been doing as of late with workouts?
“I lift 5 days a week and do about 3-4 basketball workouts each week depending on time, homework, and other things. I spend a lot of time refining my post work and getting my touch down because you can never be perfect at that.”

How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I think we will be very strong this year. We don’t have all the stars we might have had in the past, but we all work extremely hard every day to get better and I feel we work well as a team together. We have a good chance to be very good next year.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2019-2020?
“I think the toughest game for sure is going to be either Dowling or Cedar Falls. Both teams are very solid and have some good players going into the season.”

Who is the toughest individual player you will play against this season?
“There are a lot of good players in the MVC and I think every team we play has a few really good players, so I think it is not fair to try and narrow it down. It’s too difficult to try and pick and choose.”

What are the keys for your team having success?
“Our biggest keys are taking care of the ball, rebounding, and playing well together. Those are some things that we struggled with last year and that we need to improve on to really be successful.”

Why did you end up picking Belmont?
“For me, Belmont checked all of the boxes of a school that you would want to play basketball at. Also, they really care about you as a person and what you become outside of basketball. They have amazing fan support and are located in a beautiful city with lots to do. Everyone there is great people and they just straight up win. They win at a high level and play in the NCAA tournament often. That’s my goal, to play in the tournament.”

What do you think helped allow you to separate yourself from other prospective recruits that DI schools were looking at?
“I think it was two things; the first is how hard I play and how I do things the “right way”. I have been blessed to have been coached by great people and especially my time with the Barnstormers has taught me how to play hard and do things the way coaches want to see them done. Second is the work I put in off the court. I’m respectful, get good grades, and put a lot of time in the weight room and on the court. Simple things like that go a long way with college coaches.”

What are some of the biggest things that are allowing you to play Division I basketball next year?
“The support I have at home, at school, and on the court are the reasons I was able to complete my dream. It’s never easy trying to play a college sport, but with the right support of even just one person, it can help push you to work your hardest and become what you want to be.”

What was the hardest part of recruiting?
“The hardest part was honestly just getting calls and texts a lot and having to deal with the stress of them coming to watch you play or workout. Also, trying to impress new schools was always a hard thing to do. When they came to watch me, that puts extra pressure on me playing to win and also playing to show everything I can offer.”
