“I’ve been lifting 4 times a week for two hours and finding a way to run miles three times a week.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I feel like my vertical has improved a huge amount. My previous vertical as of last year was 31 inches, but it’s now 38 inches. Also, my speed has increased a lot in terms of my 40-yard dash at 4.60.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I’m trying to improve my endurance. Like many others, I feel like I have gotten just a little bit out of shape and I’m not my usual self.”
How has Covid-19 factored into your workouts?
“COVID-19 has left me a lot more time to focus on training for football and preparing myself for the upcoming season. With not much to do, I am often working out or lifting two times per day.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“It’s always hard to predict what’s going to happen in the upcoming season, but I feel like we’ve improved a lot over the off-season and we are bound to make some shocks across the state if we continue to stay focused and work hard.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I feel like our toughest team on the schedule this upcoming season will probably be Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“One of the more recent Iowa commits, wide receiver Brody Brecht from Ankeny.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“As of right now I haven’t exactly decided which sport I want to play at the next level, but I am getting the most looks for college football.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Iowa, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Western Kentucky, Ohio, NDSU, NIU, UNI, Drake, Illinois State, Davidson, Dartmouth, Princeton, Harvard, and some others with slight interest.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Iowa has been giving the most attention.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I haven’t made any college trips yet due to the Corona virus. It has obviously held me back from doing so.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“Yes, I plan on having a visit to Iowa, Dartmouth, and Davidson once things get cleared up.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“It’s hard to say at the moment which camps I plan on doing with the cancellation of D1 camps due to another dead period made by the NCAA.”
