How did the high school football season go overall?
“A 2-7 season obviously isn’t the type of season you want to have, but we had the circumstances of having low numbers of upperclassmen out. Us sophomores had to grow up really quick and be able to play varsity level football. Last season, I also had to balance fall baseball in Florida and football, so I missed a couple games.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans now are to start working out 5-6 days a week with the team for 3 and on my own for the other 2-3. I also have baseball coming up, so I am also preparing for that by practicing every day.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a baseball player?
“My speed isn’t close to where it should be., and I have been working on cutting my pop time. Quick feet are a key thing for a baseball player, and I need some work with that.”

How do you feel your team will do next baseball season?
“This summer I will not be playing for City High baseball. I will be playing for a travel team in Florida. Iowa baseball being the only state to have it in the summer hurts the amount of exposure we get.”

How has the Covid19 changed your workout plans?
“The virus hasn’t really changed a lot other than me not coming back from spring break. Down here, I have a coach I go to in order to hit and do some fielding stuff with, so I have still been able to keep working on baseball. On the other hand, with the gyms closing, I haven’t been able to lift so I have been doing a lot of sprints on the beach and body weight workouts.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“My sport to play in college would be baseball. I have been playing it for the longest time and I really have fell in love with the game.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Mizzou, Iowa, and Xavier. I have had a couple coaches from other schools give some looks but those three are the main.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Mizzou has shown the most interest in me after I went there for a camp.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any trips yet.”

Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I am hoping to have some trips set up after this summer season.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Ever since I was little, I was a Florida and Iowa fan. My mom pretty much raised me a Gator fan and my dad wanted me to be a Hawkeye fan.”
