What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I’ve been going to morning weights and morning agility workouts that our strength and conditioning coach set up for all of the athletes. I’ve also been going to our Team install and 7 on 7 to help us get our pass game in.”
What do you feel you have improved on most this off-season?
“The thing I feel like I’ve improved on most is my mentality. Last season I caught myself slacking a couple times during games and this season I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen because it’s my senior year and I want to make the very most of it.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I feel like we have a very good chance to do something very special and do something the doesn’t happen much around here.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Definitely West Delaware. They have always had a really tough squad and are coached very well by Coach Wink. That game week 8 will definitely be a battle.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I’d have to say Wyatt Voelker. I’ve played against him quite a few times and he’s one of those dudes that doesn’t go down on first contact. He’s a very good athlete and he’s definitely going to be on our scouting report as a guy who if we shut down, we have a shot at winning that ball game.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I’m definitely thinking about playing a sport in college but it’s going to be a very tough choice for me either picking football or choosing if I want to throw shot put and discus in college.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“For football, Wartburg, Morningside, Waldorf and Loras. For track and field, it is Wartburg and Indian Hills.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Waldorf and Indian Hills are both very consistent.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes, I’ve gone on 2 football visits to Wartburg and Waldorf. Then I went on one track visit to Wartburg.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I’ll be going on a visit to Indian Hills for track later this summer.”
Have you done any camps this off-season? How do you feel you performed?
“I went to the Junior day camp in Indianola and felt like I performed very well. I didn’t get the 40-yard dash time I wanted but I improved my broad jump by 2 inches which was a huge improvement. I also ran really good routes that camp at tight end.”
Do you have any plans for camps ahead?
“No, I’m way too busy with baseball.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Yes, I loved watching Oregon when Marcus Mariota was playing for the ducks. They played at a high pace and a high level.”
