How did the high school football season go overall?
“Last football season, we went 8-3. It was a lot of fun playing with the seniors we had, but we had a lot of room for improvement.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Since the season ended, I have played basketball and I am running track right now. We have been doing workouts in the weight room at 6:30 a.m. that are a little on the lighter side since it's in-season with track, but once track is over, we will be grinding on the field and in the weight-room.”
What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“The area I need to improve the most as an athlete is speed. Speed is key to every sport, and that’ll help me become the best athlete I can be.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Even though we are losing a lot of seniors that were starters, I feel like we will be just as good if not better this year. We have a great connection with each other, and a lot of the guys love to work and push each other. Also, we are going to try to make it mandatory to be in the weight room this summer so we can get the best out of each player.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“Last year, the competition was tough, but I feel it helped us win that first round in the playoffs. It’ll be hard to tell who will be the toughest competition this year since every team loses and gains people. If I am going off last year's competition, Sergeant-Bluff and Lewis Central will be our toughest competition in the next season.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would love to be a college athlete because that’s what I have always dreamed of. I would preferably like to play college football since that’s my favorite sport, and the one I train for the most.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Some schools that have contacted me are South Dakota, Minnesota State University, Northwest Missouri State, Wayne State, Simpson, Grand View, Dordt College, Wartburg, Lyon College, Oberlin, Southern Arkansas University, UNW St. Paul Christian University, Amherst, and Bethel University.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have made one college trip to South Dakota. That is it so far.”
Do you have any plans for more trips soon?
“I do plan on making some other trips soon to Minnesota State University, Wayne State, and Simpson.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was the Iowa Hawkeyes. Always have been.”
