How did the high school football season go overall?
“We didn’t know what to expect at the beginning of the season with a new coach coming in and losing 13 seniors from the year before. We didn’t let that bother us and we just worked hard and did what was asked of us. We started off the season 5-0 until losing a tough game to North Tama, but we didn’t let that bring us down. We made the playoffs and upset two undefeated teams to make it to the State Championship. We ended up finishing runner-up with an 11-2 record, and for the season lost two games by a total of five points.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I will participate in basketball, track, and baseball while also lifting three days a week.”
What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“I need to get better at reading defenses and pocket passing.”
How do you feel your team will do next season?
“Since we finished runner up, we have some unfinished business to take care of. We have a lot of returning starters, so we all want to work hard and win a State Championship.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“We do not know our schedule yet. The district changes every two years but based on some of the teams we could face, Wapsie Valley and St. Ansgar would be a couple of the toughest.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I would like to play football in college.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“No colleges are currently recruiting me, but I’m hoping after June 1 I start to hear from some.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I have not yet made plans for college trips but hope to visit a couple colleges this summer and will also participate in some camps.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“The University of Iowa has been my favorite college.”
