How did the high school football season go overall?
“I think it went very well, but we are not satisfied whatsoever. I think we were doubted upon quite a bit, but I think we proved a lot of people wrong. There will always be doubters and you just must roll with it because in the end it’s not the outsides opinions that matter, it’s ours and how we choose to respond to them that does. We try to continue to get better and better every day.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am a 3-sport athlete, so I’m busy with sports year-round. Whether it’s school basketball or AAU basketball tournaments, to the summer football workouts and football season, or to even helping my track team on the oval in the spring, I’m very busy with sports seasons and practices. Lately, I have been hitting the weights hard because I want to get a lot bigger in order to make a larger impact on the court or field, but overall, I’m constantly trying to get stronger and faster. We have a tremendous strength and conditioning program that is incorporated into our athletics and it helps out a great deal with our athletes.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We have very high expectations, and we are working our tail ends off to help us get there. I think we are going to be a force to reckon with this upcoming season and the seasons to come.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We respect all of our opponents and will prepare the same for each one. We are confident in our abilities, but we will not underestimate other teams.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would love to play sports in college. All my life sports have been huge. I’ve grown up in a sports family and surrounded myself with other athletes as well. My family is big on football, but I’ve tended to sway more towards basketball. However, I still love football too. My father has preached since day one to try your hardest in everything you do. And I’ve always thought that there’s no point in wasting time, so I need to get the most I can out of each opportunity. High school only happens once, why not be the best I can be? In the end, I would love to play any sport in college whether that’s basketball, football, or track and field.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’ve been reached out to by a couple schools. Drake has contacted me a little bit, and Iowa State and Missouri are keeping tabs on me as well. Overall, no major recruiting has happened, but some colleges have still contacted me.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve been a big fan of Iowa State pretty much my whole life. However, one side of my family always loved Iowa. The other side loves Iowa State like me. We’re kind of a house divided. Ever since my brother committed and played for ISU, most of my family cheers for them so that has been a big factor. Go Clones.”
