How did the high school football season go overall?
“This season was a great season for me and the rest of my team. We played some tough teams throughout the season and fought hard to a 7-2 record. I’m especially proud because at the beginning of the season, people we expecting to be pretty bad. It feels nice to know we showed people what we were capable of.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Right now in the winter, my focus has shifted over to wrestling now. In the spring, I’ll be running track. Not only do I like these sports, but I know they both help tremendously on the football field. When track season comes, I’ll begin to focus more on football specific workouts.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“I hope to work on my footwork and improve it from last year. I know there were some time when I could have made some plays if I kept my footing and moved more effectively. Also, I hope to work on my reaction time when it comes to recognizing plays as they develop.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I’m very confident in my teammates and coaches for this coming year. I learned over the past couple years that as a whole, my team cares extremely for this sport and will do whatever it takes to succeed. I don’t expect a recession at all from this past year.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“I know the districts and schedules are going to be realigned during this offseason, so I’m not sure who we will be playing next season. We have played Harlan every single year for as long as I remember, so I do expect to be playing them. They have been very successful almost every year for a very long time, so I am sure they will be a tough team next year.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I haven’t thought too far in the future for my sports career. If I were to play one in college, I would love to play football. I love every sport I play, but I would rather play football over all the others.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven’t gotten a whole lot of attention from any college this year. An Iowa Western coach talked to me for a bit, but otherwise, it’s been fairly quiet.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve always loved Iowa ever since I can remember. My dad has taken me to games at Kinnick before I could walk. I root for them by far above any other team.”
