What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“Well, I'm just recovering from having shoulder surgery because I tore my labrum with three games left. I've really been focusing on my endurance and footwork as of late while also doing physical therapy.”
What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“I think the biggest improvement I've made during the off-season is watching film. The things that I have done wrong I am working to improve on them overall.”
What are your areas of focus going forward?
“My area of focus is to be a better teammate and leader. I am getting my teammates into the weight room and going to the 7-vs.-7 in the summer. Technicality wise, being a better tackler is my main goal. I am not just trying to drag people down but wrap them up and bury them.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I think we're going to surprise a lot of people and maybe even ourselves. A lot of our younger guys are going to step up and make a big impact for the team when they need to. Our veterans are going to do what they do best and battle. Winning games for us won't be a challenge in my opinion.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“Solon. They have an amazing program and make a run at the state championship year after year.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would definitely like to play either football or wrestle in college.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven't gotten much college attention. There have just been a couple of camp invites, but nothing personally.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Not yet, but I hope to in the future.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I haven't thought much about camps yet. I have looked into signing up for the Iowa Elite Offense and Defensive Skill Camp on the 3rd of June.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Iowa has always been my favorite college for any sport.”
