What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“As far as lifting workouts go, I am in the weight room two to three times per week during the baseball season. Prior to that, I was in four times per week. For the football side, I go work with my receivers and backs one to two times per week. We are working on throwing routes and timing with my guys.”

What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“I believe I have gotten much stronger since the last football season ended. I’ve worked hard in the weight room and have gained 70-pounds on my squat max and 45-pounds on my hang clean max.”

What are your areas of focus going forward?
“My biggest focus right now is getting used to my new receivers and being on the same page. We lost our top two receivers statistically from last year. That could be a huge loss, but our receivers have done a great job so far in wanting to get better.”

How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I believe that we are capable of having a very successful season and can earn a playoff spot if we take care of business.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“Most people would like to think that Southeast Polk and Ankeny Centennial will be the favorites in our district and both will very good teams. The biggest focus for me and my team is week one against Mason City, arguably our biggest rival.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have talked to many DII schools so far. I have gone and visited St. Cloud State, Minnesota State, Augustana, and Sioux Falls. I have also talked to coaches from Upper Iowa, Concordia St. Paul, and Winona State. Another school that I have visited was Grandview.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“So far, I would say that I have had the most contact with Augustana and Grandview.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“St. Cloud State, Minnesota State, Augustana, and Sioux Falls.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“I have gone to camps at UNI, Iowa State, and Augustana so far. I plan on going to Winona State in early July and I have a couple in mind to go to in mid and late July, depending on how well the baseball season goes.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite team growing up has been the Oregon Ducks. I have liked them ever since I was a little kid and got the chance to go to a game in Eugene last year.”
