What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I have been doing upper body workouts, but nothing that is too strenuous on the lower body.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I feel like I have improved my ball carrier vision and making the right reads, based on what the line gives me. We haven't really worked much on anything since the 2019 season, except strength and conditioning.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I would like to improve my footwork. Coach says that I see the right reads, but my feet need to keep up with what my mind wants them to do.”
How has Covid-19 factored into your workouts?
“Not being able to closely work with my trainer on rehabbing my hamstring has definitely slowed my progress, but the break from sports will actually be good to give my body time to heal. We still get workouts from our coaches every other day and I do what I can in my home gym.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I feel like we will have a very solid season, and for sure be above 500. We will miss a lot of our seniors from 2019 season, but I look forward to seeing what the underclassman can do.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Definitely Montezuma. They have some of the quickest players I have ever played against. Watts and Shearer, with Burgess throwing them the ball, will be hard to stop.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“I think covering Shearer will be a challenge because he is very quick and shifty.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I think I would like to play sports in college. If I had to pick one, I guess it would have to be football.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“None so far.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“I have invites to some camps but am not sure if I am going to go to any of them.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Iowa State.”
