How did the basketball season go for your team?
“Overall our season was not what we as a team wanted it to be. Throughout the season, we were challenged every night out by many talented teams. With an 8-14 record, our record was not where we wanted it to be, but we grew tremendously every night out no matter the score on the scoreboard.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“Off-season workouts for me will be a huge part of my success this upcoming year. I plan on developing more of a 1-on-1 game where I am able to score in many different and diverse ways. Also, I’m working on my off hand developing it back to where it originally was before I broke it in the beginning of the season.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“The main focus for this off-spring will be building the chemistry throughout our new team with a lot of new young talent being introduced next year. I feel as if we will be able to get out and run on most of the teams we play against.”

What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How do you feel your team will be?
“I will be playing with the NCC Thunder out of Algona. I feel that our AAU season will be very successful, and we all have the chip on our shoulder to put the name NCC Thunder into the top-notch AAU programs in the Midwest.”

How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I can see the upcoming season really being a turning point in the program for Emmetsburg basketball. I believe we will be a very diverse team with lots of talent and athletes. We will have a long off-season to be in the gym and work hard. I believe we will be a dangerous threat for any team next season.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2019-2020?
“There is no game that sticks out to me necessarily as the toughest game of the year for us. Night in and night out, we play very well-rounded teams in and out of the conference. Coach Geelan prepares us for whoever we are playing the same. A huge vocal point for us is worrying about how we are going to come out be the toughest team on the court and scrap out a win no matter what it takes.”

What sport do you want to play in college?
“With getting closer to college, I have not nailed down a specific sport I would want to play. Saying that, I have narrowed it down to either football or basketball. Time will tell and more than likely it will come down to what I feel I can be more successful in at the next level.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have not received much interest from many colleges, but I am hoping to change that going into the AAU season.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not toured any colleges but plan to see as many as possible during my junior year.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up, I have been a Hawkeye fan through and through. It is my dream and goal to play in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.”
