How did the basketball season go for your team?
“It went well. We came up a little short of our ultimate goal of getting to state when we lost by two-points in the substate game. From going 2-20 my freshman year, we have gradually gotten better. Hopefully next year, we have one goal and that is state.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“I have been involved in track. I believe the more sports you do, it’ll make you a better athlete. I’ve been shooting four or five times a week. My biggest thing is getting stronger and quicker.”
Do you have a favorite sport?
“Basketball has always been my passion. I grew up playing it. This past year for football, it was a lot of fun because we went to the spread. Even though we went 1-8, it was a lot of fun.”
How do you believe your football team will be next season?
“We have quite a lot coming back. All of our skill positions are coming back and we were pretty decent in skill positions. We need some linemen because they averaged 160-pounds last year. If we get into the weight room and buy into the systems, I believe we can win five or six-games. I think it can happen.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2017?
“Football-wise, I would say Dike-New Hartford. They lose a lot but we got beat by probably 60 this year. Even if they lose a lot, they’ll probably reload well.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“I’d probably say basketball is what I’d rather do but football is where I have the most interest from for colleges.”
What has been the interest for football?
“I was at the UNI junior day, SMSU reached out, and then there has been Central, Simpson, and Wartburg.”
What has been the interest for basketball?
“Wartburg has been a little bit.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I’d probably say Simpson right now for football.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“For football, I’m going to camps at UNI and SMSU so far. I’ll be doing more but it is a learning experience for me.”
