How did the spring and summer go for you with basketball?
“The off-season been going well so far. In the spring my AAU team, DSM Power, played in three tournaments in Omaha and Ames and played pretty well. I’m involved in baseball so I couldn’t play in any tournaments in July, but our high school team played in four team camps and won a lot of games with younger guys which was good for the upcoming season.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“This fall I am going to work out with a guy from Kingdom Hoops 2-3 times a week, which is what I did last year as well as open gyms and other fall camps going forward.”
What have you improved on the most since last season?
“The biggest thing I’ve worked on is my pull up jumper. Last year it was either shoot the three or all the way to the hole, so I think my game has expanded with the new level of scoring added to my game. Also being a junior, I’ve been more vocal to my teammates.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I think we’ll be better for sure with the amount of players we bring back and the experience that comes with it. We also have a couple new kids that could play pretty big roles this upcoming season.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2019-2020?
“Our whole conference is really tough and reloads every year, so I think every game will be a challenge.”
Who is the toughest individual player you will play against this season?
“Either Xavier Foster or Bowen Born, who are in our conference.”
What are the keys for your team having success?
“A couple of the keys to our success is our communication and having a variety of guys get involved and make shots as well as having new guys step up each night.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“I want to play basketball in college for sure.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’ve just started the process and multiple D3 schools have reached out with a couple NAIA and one division two school, which is cool to see all the different levels and what they all bring.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I don’t know if one school is recruiting me harder than others. I’ve gotten different letters from a couple and just started to make plans to attend different elite camps.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I haven’t made any official visits yet, but I’m going up to a school in Minnesota and a few in Iowa to check out.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I didn’t really have a favorite college growing up.”
