How did the basketball season go for your team?
“I thought the season went well for the most part. Our wins weren’t exactly what we wanted, but I thought we competed every game and beat Indianola and Boone to end the year before losing to a really good Norwalk team in the second round of districts. This year was kind of a rebuilding year and helped us with experience for the years to come.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“Now that the year is over, I am in baseball so I will be doing that for some of the summer but will continue to be in the weight room and start up AAU practice in a couple weeks. As summer progresses, Cole Glasgow and I will probably do skill workouts before school like we did last year.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I think the biggest things I am going to improve is my mid-range shooting and pull up jumpers. I think I can get around anyone but also making the right reads once I get past. I also am going to get better at finishing with my right hand and getting a little better vertical.”
What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How do you feel your team will be?
“I am 90% sure I am playing for the Des Moines Power this summer.”
What are your goals for the AAU season?
“My biggest goals for this AAU season is most importantly just win games and hopefully playing the good competition will help for future years. If colleges hopefully start to notice, that would be an added bonus.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I think our team should be better than this year just because we have had a year to play with each other and grow as a team. We lose 4 seniors, but hopefully we step up in their place and have new guys step up. The Little Hawkeye is going to be super good next year and hopefully we can compete and win some games.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2019-2020?
“We’re going to have many tough games next year, but Norwalk, Oskaloosa, Pella Christian, and Pella will be super tough just because of what they bring back and the talent they all have. If I had to pick one, it would have to be Norwalk just because of how good they are and all the pieces they have and how they all complement each other.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“I would love to play basketball in college. I also play baseball, but basketball has been my love my whole life and it would be great to play past high school.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven’t really gotten anything from colleges so far. It’s really not a huge thing so far and hopefully that will take care of itself.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I haven’t taken any college visits yet.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve like North Carolina my whole life so probably them.”
