What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“I’ve been working out doing speed drills and lifting three times a week at 5:45 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.”
What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“I feel like I’ve gotten a lot stronger, which was something I really needed to do.”
What are your areas of focus going forward?
“Right now, I’m focusing on getting stronger and faster just to get those simple things down that will help me. I’ve also been watching a lot of film by myself of what I could do better in game situations.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“Our team can be as good as we want to be. It’s just a matter of getting everyone on the same page and wanting to succeed. If we play as a team and for each other, we’ll be just fine.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“Lewis Central. They’ve got a real good quarterback and a really good defensive end. They’re a good team overall, they’ll be a good one for sure.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I’d love to play a sport in college and that has always been a dream of mine. If I were to choose one, it would be football. Growing up, it’s always been my favorite sport and a goal of mine to play at the next level.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“So far, I haven’t had any contact from colleges anywhere. Hopefully that changes, though.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“We are going as a team to a camp up in Fort Dodge. Our goal is to develop leadership skills for not only the older groups of kids, but everyone on the team.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was Iowa, even though my family loved Iowa State. My mom went there, but at the time Iowa had some good players. Marvin McNutt and Ricky Stanzi were guys I really liked growing up from Iowa.”
