How did the football season go for your team?
"Overall, we had a great season. We started off with a good win over Mason City and didn’t look back from there. We had a little setback against Webster City in the second half of that game, but that could’ve been a blessing in disguise. It helped us realize that a game’s not over until it’s over. Every game after that, our confidence kept growing and we got even better as a team. We got a tough draw in our first playoff game against the state champs in Waukon. Our season obviously didn’t end the way we wanted, but overall, I was happy to see the way we played throughout."
What are your workout plans now going forward?
"Going forward, my workout plans are similar to what they were last year. I need to put the work in while in the weight room and keep working on my overall football game."
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
"My personal improvement goals for this off-season include almost everything. I think that no matter how good you are, you can always improve on something. My blocking and route running are two big areas that I’ll focus on this off-season. I also want to improve on being a leader for the guys next season. I want to be a better player than I was last season."
How do you believe your team will be next season?
"I think that our team next season has the chance to be as good and could be better than we were this year. We lose some big role guys, but we have guys that are ready to step up and fill spots. Nobody should be counting us out next year."
What are the keys to your team making a playoff run?
"One major key to making a playoff run in the upcoming season is playing through adversity. There’s going to be bumps in the road. How we respond to those bumps can determine how far our season will take us."
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
"I would love to play sports in college. I’ve always been in love with football and would love the opportunity to play at the next level."
What colleges have been recruiting you?
"Up to this point, I haven’t had much interaction or contact with any colleges. I’m hoping that contact will pick up this summer and this season, too. I also haven’t visited any colleges that I’m interested in yet. I feel like I’ll wait to see what comes for me and what options are the best for me. I’m excited to see what my athletic future holds."
What camps are you going to this summer?
"This summer, I plan on attending the Trickey-Wright QB-Receiver Camp for the second time. Last summer, I went to the camp and really learned a lot. I elevated my game from what I learned. I also plan to look around for more camps to attend."
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
"I moved here from Wisconsin in elementary school, so I enjoyed watching Wisconsin Badger sports while growing up. As I’ve lived here, I’ve had the chance to attend many Iowa State games and events and love what they do with their athletic programs. Both ISU and UW are teams that I enjoy watching."
