How did the basketball season go for your team?
“Our last basketball season was definitely a tough one. We had a couple disappointing moments throughout the year, especially the way our year ended against Sheldon, but these guys are hungry and we’re going to come back ready to go.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“I have basketball workouts that I’ve gotten off the Internet I do sometimes, but our coach gets us together throughout the summer where we do workouts and practices.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I’m definitely trying to improve my shooting and my rebounding, but I think more importantly I need to try to become a better leader and a better role model to the younger classmen coming up.”
What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How do you feel your team will be?
“I’m actually just going to be playing with my high school team this summer. We’re doing a couple team camps to improve our chemistry and stuff like that. We’re going to be attending Dordt in Sioux Center and the University of Kansas for sure.”
What are your goals for the AAU season?
“Personally I just want to improve all around, but I would love to go down to the Kansas and win the team camp. Last year we placed 8 out of 64 teams from all over the country, and we won our bracket.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I think our team next season is going to be very tough and very passionate. Six out of our eight guys in our rotation are seniors and we haven’t proven anything yet, but I think we are going too. We are working to be one of the top in conference and really want to put Cherokee back on the map for Northwest Iowa Basketball.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2019-2020?
“The toughest game on our schedule is definitely going to be SBL or Sioux City North.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“Basketball.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“As of now, none.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes, I went and visited the University of Iowa, and I’ve been trying to schedule a visit to Briar Cliff as well.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I’m doing Kansas team camp and Dordt’s team camp. I will be attending more, but I aren’t sure which ones quite yet.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“The Duke Blue Devils.”
