How did the football season go for your team?
“We went 5-4 and we expected to be at least .500 on the season. We had a few games that we should've won so we could have easily been 7-3. Overall, I thought we played well as a team and improved throughout the year.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“I'm trying to make a strong comeback coming off of surgery. There is lots of physical therapy and just trying to build up my strength in the knee is going to be crucial for next season.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I need to be faster. I thought some plays last season I was a little slow and I could've been better if I was a little faster. Of course, I want to get stronger and be more physical. I think just working out this summer and really focusing on getting stronger and faster is the big part.”

How do you believe your team will be next season?
“Personally, I think our goal would for sure be to make the playoffs and make it to the Dome. Small town Chariton doesn't normally get much recognition for football, so we'd like to make a name for ourselves. I think we will because all of our hard work.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“The toughest game would probably be Centerville. We lost to them big time last season and we did not like it at all. We will be ready to get some payback on them next year for sure.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I want to play football in college. It's been a dream of mine to play football at a collegiate level since i was a little kid. I've just always been obsessed with watching football every Saturday and it's just always been a dream of mine. Preferably i would love to play for a team like Iowa State or Iowa. I've always been a huge fan of ISU so that would be fun to play for them or Iowa too.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven't yet had any colleges recruit me. I kind of had a big season last season and I just haven't been able to go to many camps yet.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any trips yet, but I plan on going to the Iowa State camp and then going on a visit.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“I will be going to Dowling Catholic Offensive Line camp, Iowa State Camp, and maybe a few out of state colleges as well.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up, I would have to say that I loved watching Iowa State. They have always been a favorite for me since day 1.”
