Q&A with Cedar Rapids Kennedy offensive tackle Jamison Bean
How did the high school football season go overall?
“I think we had a great season, although it wasn’t the ending we wanted. We went 10-2 and it was my first year as a varsity starter. I personally feel like I grew a lot as a player and overcame some huge obstacles when seven weeks into the season I broke my right hand in practice. With determination and will, I was able to get the okay from my ortho doc and was able to get back on the field and play a week after. I finished out the season with my hand casted into a club.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Currently, I’m in track season I throw shot and discus for varsity. I work out every day at school and twice a week I work on agility and footwork with StrengthU.”
What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“I’m really working on my speed, footwork and pass protection.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we are going to be good. We have a lot of returning players and good players coming up. All of next year’s team is putting in work in the weight room and working hard every day.”
