What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“During the spring, I was doing track mostly. I was throwing shot put and was able to go to state. I was lucky to be able to qualify as a sophomore. Since then, I’ve basically started back up with weights at my high school. I’ll also be doing agility stuff for the summer.”
What have you improved on the most since football wrapped up?
“I have improved my strength in the off-season and my flexibility. I can get lower. That will continue to help me a little bit with my lowering my pads.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I think last season we had a three-way tie for districts and we were the odd man out. Other teams in the district graduate a lot of players and we had hardly any other kid graduate. I think we can make an impact this year and probably make the playoffs.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2017?
“I’d probably have to say Iowa City West brings their game and usually one of the Cedar Rapids schools are tough. I think it could be Washington and Jefferson.”
Do you want to play football in college?
“I’d love to play football in college.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have visited Iowa State and that is about it. I have gotten some camp things from little colleges inside the state. That was about it.”
Do you recall any of the other schools?
“I got some general emails from Notre Dame. Other than that, it was mainly Iowa State.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I’d probably have to say Iowa State with their new coaching staff. They are looking for fresh blood and so is the new staff at Minnesota. I’d say those two.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“Actually I went to UNI. I’ll be heading over to Iowa City, UNI, Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and probably Minnesota later in the summer.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Being my dad went to Iowa, I’m really a big Hawkeye fan. I follow them and watch them.”
