What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I've just ended my camp circuit for the summer and went to five in total. I'm keeping busy with school summer workouts and also training weekly at Premier Training in Ames.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I really wanted to work on striking with my hands and moving my feet, and I've improved greatly in both those areas. Also, I wanted to improve my pass setting and overall pass blocking and I've worked on that.”

What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I’m continuing to work on my feet and hands, but also my overall get off the ball. The main thing I want to work on however is stepping into the leadership role as a senior on my team and helping us succeed.”

Who is your opponent in the season opener and how do you feel about them overall?
“We start our season off at Winterset. They're a physical team and it'll be a good matchup as we are also known for our physicality. Last year’s matchup was competitive, and I expect the same this year.”

Why did you pick UNI?
“UNI had always been a school I wanted to go to. My parents are both alumni and I’ve been on campus before this recruiting process even started. UNI felt like the perfect fit for me. They have a great journalism and athletic training programs, a competitive football team that will help me develop and improve as a player, and I really liked the coaching staff. It felt like it was the place for me.”

What other schools were you considering?
“I was considering both South Dakota and South Dakota State. I had interest in NW Missouri State and Iowa as well.”

How important were the coaches at UNI in your decision?
“Very important. I enjoyed getting to talk with Coach Farley and also the OL coach, Coach Clanton. They showed me the great program they have at UNI and were a key part in my decision.”

Why did you decide to pull the trigger now?
“I knew I wanted to be committed before my senior year started so I could focus fully on being a leader for my team, and UNI had been one of the schools I wanted to go to since the start of this process.”

What was the hardest part of recruiting?
“The whole recruiting process takes time. You’ve got to attend camps, contact coaches, put your film and everything out there, hoping to get that interest from a school. But all the time put into it is definitely worth it.”
