How is the basketball season going?
“The season is going great right now. Our team is finally starting to fall together. A lot of kids that didn’t get the playing time last year are playing major roles. Our defense is starting to get a lot more active getting steals and traps we weren’t getting in the first couple games.”
What can your team improve on?
“The only thing I can see our team and me improving on is our shot selection. We love to shoot the ball. Sometimes they go in and give us confidence, but when we are having an off night, we need to find different ways to score.”
What do you know about your next opponent in Cascade?
“Cascade is a very tough team. They play so well together and move the ball unbelievably well. They don’t rush shots. They wait until they get the shot they want. They are a very confident team.”
Based on results so far, who appears to be the best team in your conference?
“Cascade is definitely the toughest team in our conference. The way they play is so hard to try to get the shots we normally shoot. They know how to slow the game down and play at their speed.”
Do you want to play basketball in college?
“Yes. that has been my one goal since I was a little kid. I used to go watch my older brother play up at NIACC and dream of playing at that level. The thought of playing at the next level has always pushed me to be a better player, but even a better person off the court.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven’t really had any colleges look at me yet.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“This summer, I am going down to Houston with my trainer in Texas and he has a couple of camps lined up for me.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve always dreamed of going to Iowa. The environment there is just unreal. Iowa will always be my dream school.”
