How has the preparation been going for this upcoming season?
“The preparation for this season has been going great. We recently went through a coaching change, which has led to a new culture of brotherhood within our team. Our coaches are not only teaching how to prepare this offseason, but also how to be successful in life.”
What are your goals for the season?
“One personal goal I have for this season is to win the day. This is a goal I evaluate at the end of every day. Like the majority of football teams, their end game is to win state. I believe we do this by doing the little things right, or "win the day". I make sure to study our plays, meet a new upcoming player to build connections, and encourage fellow teammates in practice if we have a bad practice.”
What areas do you feel your team needs to improve on?
“I feel that one area we can improve in is communicating on defense. We have a new defense this year and we can be hesitant on what to do. This will get better with confidence through repetition.”
Who is your opponent in the season opener and how do you feel about them overall?
“Our season opponent is Ballard. They have always been a rival of Boone, which leads to an exciting game. As a team we never underestimate them, because they always bring their A game.”
Who do you feel is the toughest individual player you will play against this season?
“I don't know the names of many opponents, but Ballard and Webster City seem to always absolute athletes that compete to win. This makes the games turn into a nail biter, when the game can change on a single play.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven't been heavily recruited, but I have received letters from Lyon College and Oklahoma Baptist College.”
Have any colleges offered you?
“I have not received any offers.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I plan on setting some up as I go into my junior year.”
What camps did you do this summer and how did they go?
“I went to the Iowa Hawkeyes camp. I enjoyed the competition and learned a lot I can use back home. I feel I held my own, but overall it was a great experience.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My family has always been Iowa Hawkeye fans. I also like Northwest Missouri State because I know a former player and other alumni.”
