How did the spring and summer go for you with basketball?
“Being able to play with the Barnstormers was an amazing experience that had a lot of exposure to go along with it. My game has improved so much from just the AAU perspective from the spring and summer.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“Throughout the fall, I plan on excelling in football here at Benton while also improving my three-point shot outside of school to make myself an all-around player on the court this winter.”
What have you improved on the most since last season?
“Since last winter, I have really focused on getting bigger and being able to finish at the rim. Being tall and lengthy really helps if you can finish consistently at the rim.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“This upcoming winter, I believe we will open a lot of eyes. We lost some great seniors, but I have major confidence in the guys we have and a few stepping up from the junior class as well.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“CP-U has been our main big rivalry game the past few years and we always expect their A game when we compete against them. Every single game is always fought to the last minute and sometimes seconds.”
What are the keys for your team having success?
“Some big key factors we need to do this season in order to reach our potential is simply playing fast and being able to get big and rebound. We obviously don’t have the biggest guys in the conference, but if we put forth effort, we won’t need to worry about any of that.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“Basketball would definitely be my main choice to play in college, but football has always been hanging around in the back of my mind. I’m very open to looking at football as much as I love basketball as well.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Several NAIA colleges have reached out to me from across the state such as Mount Mercy, Clarke, and others. I’ve also had slight talks with DII colleges out of state.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Clarke and Mount Mercy have both been really interested in me and have confirmed that they want me in their program.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have yet to make any personal college visits, but I have made some public college visits this summer.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I attended Upper Iowa’s elite camp and Wayne State’s elite camp as well. I’ve also attended several open gyms from nearby colleges.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I have never had a favorite college growing up as a kid. I’ve always been open to anything.”
