What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“Strength and conditioning workouts and route running.”
What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“Being a leader to the team, helping younger athletes build confidence in strength building, learning plays and coverages, bringing together all athletes, becoming a better receiver 1-on-1, and communication.”
Who do you open the football season with? What are your thoughts on them overall?
“Ed-Co was a young team. Of course, we want to start off with a win, but we are going to play the way Comet football should be played. We are going to use all of the things this year’s team is built around. This will be a good game to test our ability to play as a team. We will identify our strengths and weaknesses from this game.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I believe our team will be just as good as last season’s team. This is the year my class has been building to. We expect to reach all of our goals set for this season. We need to play as a team, and if we do that, we will be a good team. I have a lot of confidence in this team.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“We have a pretty tough district this year, but I believe it will be either West Branch or Cascade. Both teams have their quarterbacks returning and they both deserved all-state honors. Like our team they have both lost big parts to their offense and defense. They are weeks five and eight games.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would love to play baseball or football in college. I have loved these sports since I began playing them. I feel confident and comfortable when I play these sports and I feel I could contribute in anyway a team needs me.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“This year, I only went to a campus visit at Loras. I loved the coaching staff. Most importantly, I loved Coach Olsen. He made me feel welcomed and excited for this coming season. He is an easy guy to talk to, very friendly, and an excellent recruiter. Other than that, I haven’t received campus visits or anything else.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Loras, but I would like to go to as many DIII and JuCo colleges as I could.”
What camps did you attend this summer? How did the camps go overall?
“I did not go to any camps this summer because many interfered with baseball or basketball camps and tourneys this summer. I would have loved to attend Iowa Central, UNI, Iowa, Iowa State, Upper Iowa and Wartburg.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was Iowa. I always wanted to be a WR there. I grew up imagining myself catching passes from my older brother, Cade.”
“Strength and conditioning workouts and route running.”
