How is the basketball season going?
“It has been going good. We just won last Thursday and now play Hinton in the district final. Hopefully we can win that and go into substate on Saturday. We are pretty confident going into Tuesday.”
What do you know about Hinton?
“They are a tough team and they play well together. They are a good offensive team. Jay Small is one of the best players in the state.”
How much do you know about their individual players?
“They are kind of balanced. Obviously, Jay Small is their leader but they have a couple of good players that he works well with. They got a big guy and two other role players.”
What are the keys to success in this contest?
“I think we obviously have to slow Jay Small down as much as we can. We got to outrebound them and not let them get into what they want to do.”
Do you want to play basketball in college?
"Yeah, I am actually looking into that and taking it seriously."
What colleges have been recruiting you?
"I've been getting talked to by some small Division III schools. Central has talked to me about it and Coach Van Haaften at BV has talked to me. He said he'd give me a call after the season."
Have you made any college trips yet?
"The only one is Central. I went up there for a camp last summer."
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
"Iowa State is the school that I've always followed."
