Projected First Round Playoff Games

With the new playoff format we really wont have any idea until week 9 or even until the state sets them since there is no sister districts this year.

I gotta think it will mostly play out like last year with 1vs2, 3vs4 ect. Does the 125 mile limit really eliminate any of these matchup? I don't know. Just from last year I thought it was far when N-K went to Lansing but that is within 125 miles. Just looked now and if N-K played Central Elkader which is even farther that is like 124.4 miles.

I'll post my predictions of teams and who they play sometime next week after this week plays out. I'll take into account all of the rules the state has implemented.

1st round will still matchup the 1vs4 2vs3 within 125 mile radius or whatever it is. Only thing that makes it tricky is what happens if there are three 4 seeds within 125 miles of a 1 seed or any other seed really. Without the sister districts its a complete guess as to where the state will send teams where there is more than 1 option to go. Obviously for example if there is two 4 seeds within 125 miles of a 1 seed and one of those teams is in the same district, I highly doubt the state will want a rematch of 1vs4 first round of playoffs. Just gets interesting when there is more than two within the radius.

I've alteadt started mapping out the classes and some intradistrict games are unavoidable. In your example, while the 1 seed may have multiple options, the 4 seed from the same district has only their champ within the 125 zone.

Are you talking North Iowa? I forgot that they are 30 miles or so west of Northwood so that will pose a problem. I just have a hard time see the state picking and choosing intra district and non district games like may happen.
