Team Strengths:
Overall team size and rebounding
Question Marks:
Inexperience in the post
Overview:
West Delaware took advantage of their substate last season and made it all the
way to the finale before falling to Cresco-Crestwood. The Hawks ended the
season at 14-10 but should be back competing to get to Des Moines once again.
BJ Hermsen, one of the top athletes in the Class of 2008, is back for his junior
season of basketball. This standout averaged seventeen points and ten
rebounds per game as a sophomore and can flat out play. Hermsen also is an
outstanding baseball and football player. Two other starters return in
Austin Cole and Chris Crawford. Coe scored nine points per game whole
Crawford handed out five assists per contest. The biggest question marks
are who step in around the returners? With Hermsen, West Delaware will be
in it every game but he needs others around him to take off some of the
pressure.
