Team Strengths:
Athleticism, shooting, and unselfishness
Question Marks:
Size inside and rebounding
Overview:
After finishing the last regular season undefeated and their only loss being to
Harlan in the substate final, Carroll has a great deal of question marks heading
into the new season. The first is Craig Douma takes over as coach and the
team must quickly adjust to a new system. But after talking to one of the
players, the transition has been smooth so far. As for the team, Carroll
graduated three talented starters that combined to average over thirty points.
Those points must be quickly replaced. Look for junior Kirby Pettitt and
Kyle Semprini to both step up their game. Pettitt was the second leading
scorer last year as a sophomore and finished the year with All State honors.
Now that he is a
year older, he should have a bigger impact on both ends of the floor.
If the team
can find a way to defend the post, expect Carroll to make another run at the
State tournament.
