Whoever emerges from Don Bosco and Central Elkader will have a great shot. Bosco may have the defense that can finally corral Central, but that is a tall order. Another big question is whether Central's D can stand up to the size of the Bosco offense. Not sure if Central has seen that kind of size yet.
Janesville is always a hard-nosed, tough team. They might be able to go toe-to-toe with both. It should be fun to watch it all unfold.

It wouldn't surprise me if the state tries to get Don Bosco and Central Elkader in the semis as much as possible. As much as they have been pounding teams they will most likely be the two that represent the eastern side of the state and I agree they will most likely have the best chance out of any. I think its almost a concensus that those are probably the best two teams on that side of the state. An argument can maybe be made for Janesville but until they play someone tough its going to be tough for the argument to be won.
The western side has more depth and equality among them than the east does but that could be a disadvantage this year as those teams may just beat the pulp out of each other before getting to the semis or even finals. Not sure how much will be left standing after the dust clears there. Right now though I think Fremont is probably one of the favorites to get up there...as far as the other teams its a complete toss up really. A lot of teams could have a chance at getting there, Glidden, West Bend, MMC, GTRA, Coon Rapids. Toss up on that side of the state.

As a poster rather uneducated about the Wester side of the state, I would have to say Central and Bosco meet in the dome. Although I have a little bias, the facts are in DB's favor. With the way Svoboda (Db's QB) runs behind such a large line, waiting for his block and making the cut, DB's offense will be hard to stop. Their defense is pretty strong and the coaching staff is great at halftime adjustments. That being said, DB and Central met last year early in the playoffs and Bosco came out with the win. So we will see how hungry Central is for this rematch (if it does happen). I say Bosco wins by a score of something like DB 58 - Central 38
I would say that don bosco and central will meet in the dome i think most likely in the semis. i believe that the way the Dons defense is playing they will be able to shut down the Centrals offense and Elkaders defense wont be able to stops the Dons O. i predict that Bosco Beats elkader in the Semis and goes on to win.
They're doing what they need to do to win, but it's tough to get a feel for how good they are when the competition is so weak is all.
Personally, I think Don Bosco gets to the finals. Who they play is anyone's guess. The west is wide open right now, and if Peppers makes it back for Exira (the state apparently decided to give him another week to heal), I wouldn't be surprised to see a rematch.
Too hard to tell right now especially with the way the state is picking match ups out West. As stated above, the West is too wide open yet. There are a few teams from the West I'd like to say...but whoever comes out on top from there has the best shot. They will be so battle tested by the semis/finals that it'll be tough for whomever they play. I would like to see an HLV/DB rematch in the third round and if DB comes out of that, they'll be in the finals.
I am biased, but I'd love to see Janesville and Bosco match-up. In the Dome so I can stay warm.
