This is where not having a pre-set bracket could raise a few eyebrows or not. Your predictions are convenient for geography/travel/Gate etc... and they make logical sense. It also looks like they are set up to narrow down the conferences being represented in the final 4. It will be interesting to see if IHSAA agrees.

I remember saying that I expected ic west to improve by the end of the season and be back up in the rankings... Well final 8 suffices.

Wash, Bett, Dowling, Valley, ?Waukee picked a good year to have a peak of talent on their team(s), although Dowling and Valley seem to always reload with talent. In recent years the amount of talented teams went much deeper (at least it seems that way to me). I could not vision anyone other than these teams getting to the dome this year, when playoffs started. This was not the case in previous years where the talent pool of teams seemed much deeper. Predicting the state champion from those 4, ? 5 teams, that is a more challenging task. Perhaps the turnover or penalty bug may hit a team and create a big upset, but I would be very surprised.

My perception of this is based more so on the east part of the state, I have not seen western teams play. I was curious if others have this perception as well.
