Predict a BIG first round upset

I thought this was the Class A board for a second and had a laugh. Thanks for that. Bold pick of Madrid over IKM where they have both played MNW within the last three weeks with opposite results. I think D-7 is too beat up right now.

I'll take Central Decatur over Pella Christian for a mild upset.

If Santi is healthy, the MNW v Madrid game is a different story. Losing a 1500+ yd rusher will cause any team to struggle. Plus 3 fumbles, including 1 on the 1 yd line, and getting stopped on the 2 will change the direction of a game pretty quickly. The 3 games for D7 excluding St Ed's should be good games to watch.

It does depend on injuries and whether they'll be at full strength by Wednesday.

SCC should handle Pony but Ogden could have a tough battle if they're not 100%. And while I do think Madrid vs IKM-Manning has the best potential for a 1v4 upset, if they're still missing guys they're gonna struggle on the road.

was thinking the same thing.

Not because I think D7 was the toughest/is the toughest 1A district, but more because the western side of the state is very weak outside of a few teams.

D1 is, as I have stated all year, a very weak district. D8 is, let's be honest, the weakest district. It's no offense to the hard work of the coaches and kids, its just the other districts are noticably stronger.

D7 1st Round matchups

FDSE v Wood-Grang -- WG got in, literally, on the number. Good finish to regular season, but their playoff run is going to end Wednesday. (FDSE by 35+)

Madrid at IKM -- a VERY intriguing matchup. But, if the Tigers are missing Santi and a few others due to injury it really (for lack of better term) hurts its chances to pull off the upset. IKM will see their best opponents beginning now. (IKM by 20)

Poky at SCC -- Wow. What a finish by SCC. Two weeks ago, I had them at #4. They did work and earned homefield for the 1st week. Poky is a good story, but I think the dream ends October 29. (SCC by 30)

Ogden at AHSTW-- Again, the injury bug is going around and is hitting Ogden. This is still a game I see them winning. Avoca has not seen anyone other than IKM. I think that will hurt them. Going to be a slugfest. (Ogden by 10)
