Playoffs

So the team with the higher RPI at the end of week 9 will host in the quarterfinal round. No more alphabet to determine home and away.

All attempts will be made to create as close to a “true” bracketing format using the RPI to seed to the first two rounds. Geography will be the final factor when creating brackets.

Interesting, once in the semifinals, the remaining 4 teams will be seeded based on RPI. The #1 RPI will play #4 RPI. #2 and #3 will play each other based off those rankings from after the week 9 games. What does everyone think about that?

The playoff manual was an interesting read. Glad the state is trying, I’m just not sure relying entirely on RPI for Semi-Final matchups is good. Just do it like they do for State Basketball and Baseball, have coaches on a conference call decide seeding. As I see it now Treynor and Osage will be the bottom qualifiers for District Champions. Pretty sure the state won’t have them play each other.

I'm thinking Cascade is going to knock off one of their last two opponents in either West Branch or Bellevue and they're going to make things very interesting come week 9.

That would make things very interesting. I wouldn't predict that, but I can't rule out the possibility.

Probably costs more to transport the old boys club officials to the dome as they need more walkers to get those guys there. Not sure how those assignments are done.
