Remember back in high school chemistry lab when the teacher gave you a small strip of lithium and a beaker of water? The reaction when the strip was dropped into the water was pretty spectacular. Now imagine that magnified 10,000x’s. Yeah, that’s a serious problem.

This latest news about air-bag inflators exploding (not talking about inflating or partially inflating the bag; just the part itself exploding) is incredible. 52mm cars affected? Jeebus! Like we need anything else to worry about...

One woman in MI had a minor fender bender and the airbag inflator went off, then exploded and shot metal shrapnel into her face & neck... must have cut an artery b/c she died at the hospital. Car makers have yet to agree to the recall and notify customers of which brands and models are affected.
